The fifth annual Ramps and Rail Festival is returning to the Town Square in downtown Elkins on April 27.
The festival will kick off at 10 a.m. with the opening of food and craft vendors, and a formal welcoming is set for 10:30 a.m. by Elkins Mayor Van Broughton.
Many local crafters and food vendors will sell specialty items and unique ramp dishes. Throughout the day, the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite vendors. A presentation of plaques to winners will be at 5 p.m.
Vendors with tasty ramp dishes and all kinds of crafts will take part in the annual Ramps and Rail Festival in downtown Elkins on April 27. Music will be part of the daylong event as well.
Music will begin at 11 a.m. with Appalachian Spirit, followed by Wish Awake at 1 p.m. and Mark Hamrick at 3 p.m.
The Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad is running two special one-hour train rides aboard the New Tygart Flyer, departing at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person. Reservations are highly recommended by calling 1-877-MTN-RAIL.
