FRANKLIN - Replacing an all-state pitcher and three other seniors will be the task at hand for Pendleton County this spring.

Codi Evick, a Class A first-team selection, is now suiting up for West Virginia State.

The Lady Wildcats, who lost to Moorefield in last year's regional semifinals, return a strong senior class for second-year coach Greg Smith.

Heading the list of returnees is infielder Raven Turner and Nicole Hedrick.

Turner was a special honorable mention all-state choice in 2012, while Hedrick earned honorable-mention laurels.

Fellow senior Danielle Gray is projected to play in the outfield. Anna Ruddle and Melissa Stump round out the returning seniors.

Junior Brittany Huffman saw time on the mound last season as well.

Pendleton County will open the season Friday at Eastern Mennonite, Va. The Lady Wildcats' home opener is scheduled for March 27 against Petersburg.
