John Robert Rose Sr., 60, a resident of Route 4, Philippi, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at his residence.
John was a victim of October's Super Storm Sandy. He was a candidate for the House of Delegates for Barbour and part of Tucker counties' District 47 and a local deer farmer.
A celebration of his life will be Sunday, April 28, at 1:30 p.m. at Philip Barbour High School on Route 250 south of Philippi.
The John R. Rose Sr. Memorial Fund has been set up to honor John's memory. He was very passionate about the progress and growth of the deer farming industry. Donations to his memorial fund will be used to provide scholarships or funding for 4-H students, FFA students or veterinarian students wanting to pursue a career or projects involving all aspects of the deer farming industry.
