RCB doubles up Tigers; B-U falls to Indians

Kelsey Lantz had three hits to lead Robert C. Byrd past Elkins 8-4 Wednesday in Big 10 Conference action.

Alicia Noble and Mecca Henderson had two hits each for the Eagles.

Henderson notched the win for Robert C. Byrd in seven innings of work. She gave up four runs on nine hits, walked three and struck out five.

Michaela Lewis-Lambert took the loss for the Tigers in seven innings of work. She gave up eight runs on 13 hits, walked three and struck out six.

Kelsi Trippett had three hits and scored two runs, while Lewis-Lambert added two hits and three RBIs for Elkins.

Amy Fincham, Hailey Collins, Amber Marstiller and Amelia Preusch all had singles for the Tigers.

Elkins will host rival Buckhannon-Upshur at 6 p.m. today for a league tilt.

Bridgeport 5,

Buckhannon-Upshur 2

BRIDGEPORT - Kyley Pierce and Nicki Houk had two hits each to lead Bridgeport past Buckhannon-Upshur 5-2 Wednesday in Big 10 Conference action.

Shae Tomasik notched the win for the Indians in seven innings of work. She gave up two runs on six hits, walked two and struck out four.

Megan Williams took the loss for the Bucs in six innings of work. She gave up five runs on eight hits, walked two and struck out three.

Lindsey Wagoner and Brooklyn Waddell had one hit each and scored a run for B-U (13-11).

The Bucs will visit Elkins at 6 p.m. today for a Big 10 Conference tilt.

Moorefield 7,

East Hardy 2

BAKER - Beth Cook and Brooke Riggleman had two hits and two RBIs each to lead Moorefield past East Hardy 7-2 Wednesday night in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Cook also had a home run for the Yellow Jackets, who improved to 21-3.

Danica Rogers added two hits and RBI, while McKenzie Weese had two hits for Moorefield.

Rogers notched the win for the Yellow Jackets in seven innings of work. She gave up two runs on four hits, walked three and struck out eight.

Jodie Funkhouser took the loss for the Lady Cougars in seven innings of work. She gave up seven runs on 12 hits, walked one and struck out six.

Rayann Foltz had two hits, while Marilyn Cassell and Casey Showman had the other hits for East Hardy.

Moorefield will visit Pendleton County at 7 p.m. Friday for a PVC contest.

East Hardy (13-7) will entertain Martinsburg at 7 p.m. today for a non-conference game.
