Express Care offers convenient health care to Elkins area residents

Since April 2008, Elkins Express Care has provided urgent care and family practice medicine to the residents of the area in a fast, professional manner.

Located at 1513 Harrison Ave. in Suite 18 of the Tygart Valley Mall, Elkins Express Care provides ample parking and easy access for its patients. Elkins Express Care is independently owned and operated by Dr. Timothy Peasak and his brother, David P. Peasak II.

The staff at Elkins Express Care is pleased to provide affordable, quality heath care when it's needed. They strive to provide the best in urgent care services to the residents of Elkins and surrounding communities.

"Our patients are our No. 1 priority," said Nicole Metzner, office manager at Elkins Express Care. "We try to make their visit from check-in to finish as smooth as possible."

Elkins Express Care has 24 employees, including practitioners, nurses, X-ray technicians, medical assistants and office staff. Practitioners have had years of emergency room and urgent care experience. They provide health care on a walk-in basis from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.

They specialize in treating all illnesses and injuries that are nonlife-threatening, such as colds, fevers and the flu; sprains, strains and fractures; minor burns; lacerations; allergic reactions; earaches; nausea; work-related injuries; bronchitis and pneumonia; abscess drainage; and intravenous fluids/therapy.

Elkins Express Care also provides drug screening, free sports physicals for middle and high school students, summer camp physicals and much more.

The urgent care idea is based on value and convenience for the patient. Elkins Express Care is an easy alternative to emergency room care because of its extended and weekend hours, as well as the ability for patients to just walk in whenever a health care need arises.

Because life-threatening illnesses and injuries are not treated, wait times are much shorter than in an emergency room. National statistics indicate that 80 to 85 percent of emergency room visits could be treated in an urgent care setting.

Elkins Express Care strives to provide quality health care at affordable rates. For patients' convenience, Elkins Express Care accepts most major insurances and all major credit and debit cards.

Elkins Express Care also accepts patients for family medicine. Those who do not currently have a family practitioner or are looking for one are welcome to stop by or call 304-637-0180.
