B-U, Elkins tilt washed out

Game to continue today with Bucs leading, 4-0

Buckhannon-Upshur had a 4-0 lead heading into the fourth inning before rain showers postponed Friday's Class AAA, Region II semifinal contest at Elkins Middle School.

The game will resume today. School officials were to announce the time and location of the contest this morning.

The Bucs jumped out to an early 1-0 in the top of the second inning on Friday as Lindsay Wagoner scored on an error.

The game was postponed in the fourth inning with the Bucs holding a 4-0 lead. The contest is scheduled to resume today.

B-U scored three more runs in the top of the third highlighted by an RBI double from Brooklyn Waddell.

Shadie Suder also had a single and scored a run, while Claire Davis had an RBI single for Buckhannon-Upshur.

Megan Williams pitched the first three innings for the Bucs.

Michaela Lewis-Lambert was on the mound for the Tigers.

Hailey Collins had the lone hit for the Tigers through the first three innings of action.

The winner of the contest will host either Musselman or Jefferson next week in the regional final with a state tourney berth on the line.
