Forest Festival announces minor court

The royal minor court of Queen Silvia LXXVII has been selected and announced by Mountain State Forest Festival Director General Cricket Leary and Queen's Department Director Lydia Jones.

Representing the 77th royal court will be crown bearer Ellyse Spencer Goddard; scepter bearer Darby Denmark Bailey; flower girls Anna Grace Belan, Addison Willow Berdine, Lauren Taylor Dodds, Olivia Mae Harris, Hannah Lee Phillips and Haleigh Marie Riggleman; and train bearers Ryan Paul DiBacco and William Chase Watson.

Goddard, 5, is the daughter of Scott and Amy Goddard of Elkins. She is the granddaughter of William and Carolyn Spencer of Port Deposit, Md., and Cloyd and Peg Goddard of Ligonier, Pa.

She is a kindergarten student at Midland Elementary School and a member of Highland Dance. She enjoys drawing, playing dolls, taking care of her dogs and spending time with her grandparents.

Bailey, 5, is the daughter of Jason and Tamara Bailey of Elkins. She has one sister, Kyatt, and one brother, Derek. She is the granddaughter of Andrew and Sherry Jones of Canastota, N.Y., Debra Swank of Elkins, the late Steve Denmark and RJ and Linda Bailey of Beverly. She is the great granddaughter of the Rev. Bill Sullivan of Elkins.

Bailey is a kindergarten student at North Elementary School and attends First United Methodist Church. She is a member of Seneca Soccer, Elkins United Soccer Club, Highland Dance and the Elkins Otters swim team. She enjoys gymnastics, reading, drawing and spending time with her family.

Belan, 8, is the daughter of Stephen and Mandy Belan of Elkins. She has one sister, Maddie, and one brother, Samuel, and is the granddaughter of Maria Valentine of Elkins and the late Bob Valentine and John and Corina Belan of Elkins. She is the great granddaughter of Ila Belan of Norton.

She is in third grade at Midland Elementary School and attends St. Brendan Catholic Church. She is a member of Brownie Troop No. 5041, Seneca Soccer and YMCA Mighty Mites Basketball. She enjoys skiing, riding her bike, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Berdine, 10, is the daughter of Ashton and Debby Berdine of Elkins. She has one sister, Ella, and is the granddaughter of Verle and DeeAnn Harper of Elkins and Robert and Juanita Berdine of Arnoldsburg.

The Midland Elementary School fourth-grader attends First United Methodist Church and is a member of the Hi-Fi 4-H Club. She enjoys kayaking, hiking, camping, geocaching, fishing and cooking.

Dodds, 9, is the daughter of Shaun and Deborah Dodds of Elkins. She has one brother, Daniel, and is the granddaughter of Donald and Phyllis Caloccia of Clarksburg and Everett and Betty Carpenter of Fairmont.

Dodds is a third-grader at North Elementary School and attends First United Methodist Church. She is a member of Elkins Little League softball, Seneca Soccer and Girls on the Run. She enjoys reading, sewing classes, theater, animals and outdoor activities.

Harris, 8, is the daughter of Benny and Michelle Harris of Elkins. She has two brothers, Tyler and Brandon, and one sister, Kaitlyn. She is the granddaughter of Barbara Kesling of Elkins and Donna Harris of Elkins and the late Nelson Harris.

She is in second grade at Jennings Randolph Elementary School and enjoys swimming, dancing, reading, drawing, animals and attending her siblings' sporting events.

Phillips, 10, is the daughter of Junior and Peggy Phillips of Coalton. She has one brother, Michael, and is the granddaughter of Sumiko Elmore of Coalton and the late James Elmore and Mickey and Charlotte Phillips of Coalton.

The Third Ward Elementary School fourth-grader is a member of the Elkins Otters swim team, Seneca Soccer and YMCA basketball. She enjoys crafting, baking, farming, animals and spending time with her family and friends.

Riggleman, 9, is the daughter of Larry and Brenda Riggleman of Beverly. She has one sister, Sarah, and is the granddaughter of Raymond Hamrick of Elkins and the late Virginia Hamrick and Floyd and Sylvia Riggleman of Beverly.

Riggleman is a fourth-grader at Beverly Elementary School and attends Landmark Baptist Church. She is a member of Ski-High 4H Club and Upward Basketball. She enjoys gymnastics, piano, singing, dancing and playing with her friends.

DiBacco, 9, is the son of John and Erin DiBacco of Elkins. He has one brother, Michael, and is the grandson of Dennis and Connie Dunham of Elkins and Sandra DiBacco of Elkins and the late Paul DiBacco.

He is in third grade at Jennings Randolph Elementary School and attends St. Brendan Catholic Church. He is a member of Cub Scout Pack No. 85 and enjoys hiking, fishing, swimming and reading.

Watson, 9, is the son of William and Desire Watson of Beverly. He has one sister, Emma, and one brother, Coy, and is the grandson of William and Andrea Kniffen of Elkins and Kaye Jones of Mabie and Kenny Watson of Elkins.

The Midland Elementary School third-grader is a member of the Cub Scouts. He enjoys camping, four-wheeling, riding his dirt bike and taking care of his pets on the farm.

The minor court will accompany Queen Silvia LXXVII during her royal coronation at 2 p.m. Oct. 4 at the outdoor amphitheater of Davis & Elkins College.
