A teenage rider of an ATV hit by a car in Barbour County was flown to a Morgantown hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Dillon Starkey, 13, of Philippi was riding a Polaris Outlaw ATV Friday when he allegedly pulled out in front of a car on Route 119 near Hackers Creek, according to a press release from the Barbour County Sheriff's Department.

The 2003 Chrysler Town and Country was driven by Cindy Johnson, 42, of Volga, who tried to avoid hitting the ATV but could not prevent the accident, the press release stated.
