MORGANTOWN -West Virginia's first trip to Oklahoma since a memorable victory in 1982 will be in prime time on Sept. 7.
The contest will start at 7 p.m. and televised on Fox.
The Mountaineers' last appearance in Norman resulted in a 41-27 victory, which is considered one the greatest victories in school history.
In the first loss in a home opener for the Sooners since 1965, Jeff Hostetler made his career debut for the Mountaineers after transfering from Penn State and torched the Oklahoma defense for 321 passing yards and four touchdown passes.
The Sooners own a 3-2 edge in the series, including a 50-49 decision in last year's first meeting as Big 12 Conference foes in Morgantown.
WVU's season opener on Aug, 31 against William &?Mary, meanwhile, will get underway at noon at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium. The game will be televised on FSI, a new station that will launch is mid-August as the rebranded Speed Channel.
The Georgia State home game on Sept. 14 also will kickoff at noon and televised locally. The television outlet will be announced at a later time.
Other games on the 2013 schedule include Sept. 21 vs. Maryland in Baltimore, Md., Sept. 28 vs. Oklahoma State, Oct. 5 at Baylor, Oct. 19 vs. Texas Tech, Oct. 26 at Kansas State, Nov. 2 at TCU, Nov. 9 vs. Texas, Nov. 16 at Kansas and Nov. 29 or 30 vs. Iowa State.
The game times for each of those contests will be announced on either a 12- day or six-day notification prior to the event.
