Lions Club essay contest winners

The Tygart Valley Lions Club recently held an awards banquet for the winners of the 2013 W. W. Beverage Memorial Essay Contest for Fifth Graders. Students who compete are from the four elementary cchools in the club’s area. The subject of the essay is, “Why I Like the Tygart Valley.” Winners are front row from left: Abigail Taylor, Beverly; Jillian Morgan, Homestead; Jessica Corley, George Ward; and Sarah Simmons, Valley Head; and back row from left: Joe Kyle, President of Tygart Valley Lions Club; and John Wallace, chairman of the essay contest. Winning students, their families, teachers and administrators were in attendance. The Tygart Valley Lions Club serves Randolph County from Beverly to the southern line of the county. It is currently the largest Lions Club in West Virginia.
