Movie to be shown on courthouse lawn

June 12, 2013
The Inter-Mountain

The Philippi Public Library and Philippi Main Street are co-sponsoring a showing of the movie "The Lorax" on the courthouse lawn this Friday.

Weather permitting, the movie will begin at approximately 8:45 p.m. The movie is based upon the well-known Dr. Seuss book published in 1971, which has been an ecological warning about the earth's environment for children and adults.

The film will mark the kickoff of the Philippi Public Library's "Dig Into Reading" Summer Reading Camps to begin Monday. The summer program includes a four-week camp for children ages 3 to 5, 6 to 8 and 9 to 12 at 10:30 a.m. Mondays through Fridays, as well as a Children's Summer Nutrition Program. The Nutrition Program is co-sponsored by the library and North Central West Virginia Community Action Association Inc., and it will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays on the library lawn.

For more information about the library's programs, anyone interested can call 304-457-3495 or stop by the library.
