The Inter-Mountain

Many residents in Belington, Junior and Weston are without power after the most recent line of thunderstorms.

FirstEnergy's Storm Center is reporting more than 17,000 residents in West Virginia are without electricity. The highest concentration of those without power are in Weston and in the Parkersburg area in Wood County. A few residents in the Elkins area are without electricity.

FirstEnergy officials do not have an estimated time for restoration of power.

According to the National Weather Service, the worst of the storms have passed through central West Virginia. Rain, though, is expected through Friday morning
