SBA to offer free training workshops

U.S. Small Business Administration leaders are excited to once again offer free web-enabled instructor-led government contracting training sessions.

Topics will include financial management for government contractors and e-commerce and Internet business strategies.

The seminars are being offered to eligible individuals or small businesses nationwide, as part of SBA's efforts to provide relevant training to the small business community. Instructors for the training are from Stover & Associates Inc.

Financial Management for Government Contractors

This course is targeted to address the needs of pre-applicants for the 8(a) program, firms in the developmental and transitional stages and graduated 8(a) firms that wish to increase their understanding of managing contract related finances, maintaining compliant accounting systems, preparing for various government contracting audits and administering federal contracts. Session 1 will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, and Session 2 will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday.

E-Commerce and Internet Business Strategies

This course is primarily targeted to pre-applicants for the 8(a) program and firms in the early developmental stage of the program. Others who may benefit are firms in the transitional stage or graduated firms that have little experience in leveraging technology to improve their competitive position or wish to broaden the knowledge of personnel in key positions. Session 1 will be 1 to 4 p.m. June 24, and Session 2 will be 1 to 4 p.m. June 25.
