Area player participates in Classic

Elkins High School's Michaela Lewis-Lambert participated in the North-South All-Star Classic softball games held recently at Buffalo High School.

The South prevailed over the North in all three games by scores of 8-0, 13-1 and 8-2.

Lewis-Lambert pitched in the second and third games for the North team.

St. Albans' Ali Haynes tossed a three-hit shutout to lead the South in the first game of the three-game series, while Cabell Midland's Morgan Zirkle

knocked in a pair of runs and stole three bases to spark the South in the second game.

Sissonville's Bekah Baldwin belted a three-run homer to power the South to an 8-2 win in the final game. She also struck out 10 on the mound.

The South now leads the all-time series, 28-21.
