Citizens broke open a close game with six-run outburst in the sixth inning to claim an 11-4 win over Allegheny Insurance in the opening game of the Elkins Elks Babe Ruth City Tournament Friday night at Robin Harvey Memorial Field.
Citizens led 3-0 before Allegheny plated two runs in the top of the fourth to cut the deficit to one.
A two-run single by Caleb Riggleman in the bottom of the frame extended the margin back to 5-2.

Allegheny threatened in the top of the sixth, putting runners on first and second off of Citizens starter Adam Riggleman. But Kyle Riggleman entered and recorded the final two outs to end the rally.
Citizens then blew the game open in the home-half of the inning.
Caleb Riggleman started the uprising with an RBI double and another run crossed on an error to make it 7-2. Sam Ross and Michah Hyson added RBI singles, while Luke Petrice cracked a two-run double.
Adam Riggleman earned the win for Citizens, which will face Elkins Suzuki at noon today.
Elkins Fordland will face the winner of Friday's late game between Broughton's Sports and Davis Trust at approximately 2 p.m. today.
The championship game will be played at 2 p.m. Sunday.
