Augusta plans several events

Today, Monday, July 8 -Honky-Tonk dance will take place from 8 to 9:30 p.m at the pavilion with live music by the Early Country Music staff followed by a Cajun Dance at 9:45 p.m. with live music by Blake Miller & Friends. Admission is $6 per person

Tuesday, July 9 - Cajun & Early Country concert is set for at 8 p.m. in Harper-McNeeley Auditorium (doors open at 7:30). Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors over 59 and $7 for youth up through high school.

The concert lineup includes: Kelli Jones-Savoy, Courtney Granger, Thomas Bryan-Eaton, Ginny Hawker & Friends, David Greely, Joel Savoy, Jesse Lege, Walter Mouton & Friends.

The concert will be immediately followed by a Cajun dance in the adjacent open-air pavilion featuring music by Paul Daigle & Friends. Admission is free to those who attend the concert. General admission is $6.

Wednesday, July 10 - Pickin' in the Park, from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Elkins City Park will feature acoustic jams. Join one, start one, sing along or listen; admission is free. Everyone is welcome, but no smoking or alcohol is permitted in the park.

Fais Do-Do will take place at 8 p.m. on the Halliehurst Porch. There will be a Cajun dance party with gumbo and other food prepared by the Cajun cooking class. Everyone is welcome. Although no admission fee will be charges, donations to Cajun Scholarship Fund will be gratefully accepted.

Thursday, July 11 - Craft student showcase will take place from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. in the lobby of the Myles Center for the Arts.

The concert will be immediately followed by a Zydeco dance in the adjacent open-air pavilion featuring the music of Miguel Fontenot & Friends. Admission is free to those who attend the concert. General admission is $6.

Friday, July 12 - Cajun/ Creole Showcase is slated fort 1:30 p.m. at the pavilion. Admission is free.

An Early Country Music open mic session is scheduled for 3 to 5 p.m. in the Madden Center; admission is free.

A Cajun dance will take place at 8 p.m. in the open-air pavilion, with live music by Jason Frey & Friends and Walter Mouton & Friends. Admission is $6 per person.
