Snowshoe Mountain recently announced the music lineup for its annual two-day Blues, Brews and BBQ weekend starting Friday, Aug. 9. The Blues, Brews and BBQ Festival is an event that brings together outdoor concerts, a wide selection of barbecue, a mountain-side brewfest environment with a vast assortment of the nation's finest craft beers, and a Saturday night fireworks display above the mountaintop village.
Blues artists scheduled to perform on an outdoor stage in the village include: The Fat Daddy Band, which will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9; Mahajibee Blues, which will perform at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10; Elliot New and The Untouchables, who will take the stage at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10; Doug Deming and Dennis Gruenling and The Jewel Tones, who will perform at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10; and the Rusty Wright Band, which will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10.
Advance purchase wristbands, which include a custom-designed event mug and beer-tasting tickets, are available for $30. Concerts are free to the public. Barbecue meals and T-shirts will be sold separately.
Over 30 of the region's top microbreweries and major distributors will compete for "best of show" prizes, voted on by all the event attendees. Some of the breweries attending this year are: North End Tavern, Bridge Brew Works, Mountain State Brewing Company, Elkins Distributing, North Central Distributors, Valley Distributors and JC Distributing. In addition to the microbreweries several popular national beer distributors will be represented as well including: Shock Top, Sierra Nevada, Stella Artois and Sam Adams Oktoberfest.
