Louise McAtee, general manager for the Huttonsville Public Service District, has announced that Aug. 15, 2013, will be the final day to sign Water User Agreements and pay the $100 tap fee for this forthcoming water project.
The $100 tap fee is what is required by our financiers to warrant this to be a feasible water project and governs the water rates. The Huttonsville PSD currently has 211 water users signed up, but according to our accountant, we need 268 users to keep the tariffs down. The more people signed up before this project begins, the better the water rates will be on our current and future customers.
The water project is engineered by Hornor Brother Engineering of Clarksburg, and the design is now complete.
The only thing needed is a commitment from citizens interested in water. Anyone interested in water should contact the Huttonsville PSD or Dave Hamrick from Valley Head who has been out visiting the area and signing up consumers. Once the project has been awarded, the cost for the taps will increase to $300.
