Mary Loueda Stafford, 90, of Baughman Towers, Philippi, passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, in Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins. She was born March 29, 1923, in Barbour County, a daughter of the late Henry F. and Helen (Barker) Marteney. She was united in marriage March 2, 1946, to the late Charles O. Stafford who preceded her in death on August 16, 1968. Surviving are:
One son: Gene Stafford and wife, Carolyn of Orlando, Fla.
One granddaughter: Jennifer Stafford of Jacksonville, Fla.
Mrs. Stafford was preceded in death by four sisters: Eva Nuzum, Flossie Kerr, Vaughnee Smith and Cathelene Marsh, one brother Junior Marteney.
Mrs. Stafford was a homemaker and a member of Dorcus Rebekah Lodge No. 275 of Philippi, and the Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Stafford was a member of Crim UM Church, Philippi.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut Street, Philippi, on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. the service hour with the Pastor Bryan Headley and Pastor Shirley Webster officiating.
