Margaret Howell Shaver, 87, of League City, Texas, formerly of Charlotte, N.C., went to be with the Lord Sunday Aug. 11, 2013, and leaves behind a legacy of faith to her family. Born Jan. 6, 1926, in Charlotte she was a daughter of the late Ercle Ray Howell and Russie Wamsley Howell.
She was a graduate of Harding High School, retired Postal Clerk with the U.S. Postal Service in Houston, Texas, and retired from American Trust (now Bank of America).
Graveside services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at the Huntersville Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9-10 a.m. at Huntersville Presbyterian Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are son, Billy Joe Shaver Jr; daughters, Maria Shaver, Sandra Colvin and husband, Landon, and Linda Shaver; nine grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher, Steven, Kevin, David, Brian, Jeremy, Holly and Angie; four great-grandchildren, Daniel, Jaelyn, Sarah and Tyler; sister, Mary Walters and husband, Frank; brother-in-law, John Douglas and numerous extended family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Shaver, brothers, Ercle, Joseph and James Howell, sisters, Vera Stegall and Virginia Douglas.
