West Virginia Wesleyan College was abuzz this past weekend as the college welcomed its largest incoming class in 10 years. A total of 517 students and their families joined the campus community in its orientation festivities Saturday and Sunday on the Buckhannon campus.

Joining the ranks of the college's student body to encompass the highest total campus enrollment in five years, the incoming class stems from the second largest applicant pool in the school's history and boasts some strong credentials. The class's average GPA is a 3.46 with an average ACT score of 22 and an average three-part SAT score of 1490. This class comes from 26 states and 11 countries, yields a 19 percent diversity rate and has 150 W.Va. PROMISE Scholars.

"The weekend was excellent as we welcomed our largest class in over 10 years," stated Director of Admission John Waltz. "I am so thankful for the work of our admission staff, as well as all of the faculty, staff and current students who came together to show the new class why this is such a special place. From lunch at the president's home to members of the Wesleyan Greek community, residence life staff, student organizations and community helping move in their boxes and furniture, it truly affirms what a caring and supportive environment we have at this place."
