Mountaineers release depth chart

Trickett, Millard listed as co-starters at QB for Saturday’s opener vs. William &?Mary

MORGANTOWN - Florida State transfer Clint Trickett and junior Paul Millard are listed as the co-starters at quarterback for West Virginia's season opener against William &?Mary on Saturday.

Coach Dana Holgorsen released the two-deep depth chart for the noon contest at Mountaineer Field late Sunday.

Houston transfer Charles Sims, meanwhile, is penciled in as the starting running back.

Senior Ivan McCartney, freshman Dakiel Shorts, and sophomores K.J. Myers and Cody Clay are the starters at the receiver spots.

The line includes junior Quinton Spain and senior Curtis Feigt at the tackle spots, sophomore Marquis Lucas or senior Pat Eger at left guard and junior Mark Glowinski at right guard and redshirt freshman Tyler Orlosky at center.

Seniors Will Clarke and Shaq Rowell, along with redshirt freshman Eric Kinsey make up the defensive front.

Linebackers include Jared Barber and Doug Rigg at the "Sam" positions, sophomore Nick Kwiatkoski at "Will", sophomore Isaiah Bruce at "Spur" and junior college transfer Brandon Golson at "Buck."

The corner spots are filled by juniors Travis Bell and Ishmael Banks, while Darwin Cook is at bandit safety and sophomore Karl Joseph at free safety.

Redshirt freshman Josh Lambert is the kicker, while sophomore Nick O'Toole is the punter.

Sims will be the team's kickoff returner, while sophomore Ronald Carswell will return punts.

Holgorsen will address the Big 12 Conference media today.
