A joint dinner was served Sept. 10, followed by the members of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 7 retiring to their meeting room. The meeting was called to order by Connie Bailey, the president.
The opening prayer was given by Shirley Perry, the chaplain. The pledge to the flag was led by Katrina Meyers, the sergeant-at-arms, and followed by the reading of the Preamble. Marge Kleckner furnished the music of "The Star-Spangled Banner." Members sang along.
Delores Wilson delivered a report on flag etiquette. Loretta Dawson discussed the project of supplying boxes in which to collect library books.
Cristine Crites reported she had made and delivered 25 lap robes to the Veterans Hospital. She also reported donating a flag to Crites Electric of Buckhannon.
Bailey announced the flags, which the Auxiliary contributed toward their purchase, are now displayed at several locations.
