Pumas run past AB; ’Cats bow to Falcons

PHILIPPI - St. Joseph's College racked up 638 yards of total offense to run past Alderson Broaddus 45-17 Saturday at AB Stadium.

Braxton Shelton led the Pumas (2-1) with 142 yards rushing and two scores.

The Battlers' Wilson Vaughn had a 74-yard touchdown pass to Logan Bauder, who collected five catches for 125 yards on the rainy afternoon. Brandon Jones added 134 yards rushing.

Jeff Stephens led the defensive effort for AB with 10 10 1/2 tackles.

The Battlers (1-2) will remain home at noon Saturday to face Virginia University of Lynchburg.

Notre Dame (Ohio) 34

Wesleyan ................ 25

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - Notre Dame (Ohio) overcame a 19-17 halftime deficit to cruise past Wesleyan 34-25 Saturday in Mountain East Conference play.

Jeremy Musselman completed 26 of 45 passes for 398 yards and two scores to lead the Bobcats (1-2, 1-1 MEC). LaVaughn Hughes had eight receptions for 162 yards and Conner Arlia grabbed 10 passes for 115.

Russ Ray, meanwhile, passed for 308 yards and threw for four touchdowns for the Falcons (2-1, 1-1). Jack Foy had 15 catches for 113 yards and two touchdowns.

Wesleyan will return home at 1 p.m. Saturday to face nationally-ranked Shepherd for a league contest.
