The Maple Leaf Society is pleased and proud to welcome former Queens Silvia, former Maids of Honor, former Directors General and former Directors of the Queen's Department to this year's Mountain State Forest Festival, "Old Traditions and New Beginnings," under the direction of Director General Cricket Leary.

On Friday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m., the membership is invited to a coffee at Graceland Inn on the campus of Davis & Elkins College. The fifth annual Maple Leaf Society Induction Ceremony will take place at that time and last year's Queen Silvia LXXVI Emily McKibbin Everson of Martinsburg; Maids of Honor Megan Leigh Nida and Emily Jane Thompson; and Director General Mike Karlen will be welcomed into the Society. Director of the Queen's Department, Lydia Jones, was inducted in 2012.

Included in the celebration is a special salute to Queen Silvia XXVII, Ann Brandt Hammann, 1963, from Martinsburg, celebrating 50 years since her coronation. The Maple Leaf Society is also recognizing the late James E. "Jim" Wallace, director general in 1967, and his Queen Silvia XXI Patricia Dofka Zielinsky from Weirton.
