Elkins used a late goal by Chris Bodkin to earn a 2-2 tie against No. 3 Morgantown on Thursday night.
The game was scoreless at intermission before the Mohigans pushed two goals across over the first 10:00 of the second half.
After Kollin Hopwood cut the deficit to 2-1, Elkins got even when Bodkin's tapped in a shot with Trey Westerfield supplying the assist with just 1:35 left in regulation.
"We knew going into this game that we had to play our best to have a chance," Tiger coach Andy Montgomery said. "They are a very good team and have beaten some good teams this season."
Elkins now stands at 8-5-2 on the season.
"This was the kind of game that builds you up for the rest of the season," Montgomery said. "With only five regular-season games left, it couldn't have happened at a better time for this team."
The Tigers will return to action at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Grafton for a Big 10 Conference contest.
The Mohigans are now 11-1-2 on the season.
