Highland Adventist School students recently kicked off their year of outdoor skills training and activities with a camping trip. The students had the opportunity to learn rock climbing and rappelling, practice fire building and tent camping, and do some cooking over a fire. Pictured above, Alex Engelkemier rock climbs. As an added bonus, the students also made their annual visit to the Allegheny Front Birdbanding site in the Dolly Sods wilderness area. Highland Adventist School provides students with a variety of outdoor skills training opportunities throughout the school year. The goal of the program is to develop in young people lifelong habits of fitness through outdoor recreation. For information, visit the school website at www.highlandadventistschool.org.
