Office of Admission highlights fall visits

October 10, 2013
The Inter-Mountain

Find out what opportunities await at West Virginia Wesleyan College during Fall Visit Days scheduled for Oct. 26 and Nov. 16. The days are a perfect time for high school juniors and seniors to explore the beautiful campus and hear from students, faculty and staff about why Wesleyan is the perfect choice for college.

Each visitation day begins with check-in at 9:15 a.m. At 10 a.m., Office of Admission staff will present "Wesleyan 101," an overview of the college, the application process and financial aid. Afterward, a student panel will share their campus experiences with attendees. There will also be an opportunity to attend the Academic Department Fair, a time to meet Wesleyan's faculty and learn more about the various majors and academic departments.

"Like any visit opportunity, it's best for juniors and seniors to see their choices up-close to get a feel for the personality of the school and its people," said John Waltz, director of admission. "Visitors to Wesleyan always comment on the genuine nature of our faculty and staff members. We are proud of this, as it is of the many aspects that draw students to the college. Fall Visit Days are an ideal time to experience it firsthand."

Visitors will also tour Wesleyan's campus and eat lunch in the French A. See Dining Center. Future Wesleyan students can browse the campus bookstore from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This year, the Office of Admission is also adding Discover Wesleyan Visit Days to their schedule. The Office of Admission encourages all students and their families who cannot attend a Saturday Fall Visit Day to visit the college on Columbus Day or Veteran's Day, Oct. 14, and Nov. 11, respectively. During Discover Wesleyan Visit Days, students will have an opportunity to meet with their admission counselor, tour the campus, eat lunch in the French A. See Dining Center, and sit in various classes within their School of interest.

To register for any of the visitation days, visit www.wvwc.edu or call the Office of Admission at 304-473-8510.
