She was born Saturday, Nov. 4, 1967, in Elkins, a daughter of David Peters and wife, Diana, of Elkins and Patricia Rigsbee and husband, David, of Knoxville, Tenn.

Allie Marie, as she was known, is survived by her maternal grandmother, Imogene Phillips of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Pumpkintown; a sister, Anita Birchfield and husband, Adam, of Knoxville, Tenn.; a brother, Matt Peters of Elkins; uncles, Rex Peters and wife, Ruth, of Bridgewater, Va., and Jim Phillips of Memphis, Tenn.; aunts, Sharon Ward and husband, Jim, of Norton, Brenda Phillips of Memphis, Tenn., and Judy Whetzel of Oregon; several cousins, Sara Ward, Cheryl Gottschall, Brian Ward, Hank Ward and David Whetzel and their families; as well as her faithful companion, her dog, Tsarania.

Preceding her in death were her paternal grandparents, Madelyn and Paul Peters; maternal grandfather, James Phillips; and uncles, Johnny Phillips and Harry Whetzel.

Alexis worked as an office manager for Marie County of Clearwater, Fla. She loved to follow the Iditarod races, having formed a group of followers called the "Iditapeeps." She enjoyed watching Florida, Tennessee, and West virginia University football games. Her favorite NASCAR driver was Jeff Gordon. Returning to West Virginia for the Forest Festival and visiting the Ward farm were also enjoyable to her.

Alexis was a wonderful daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend. Always willing to help out anyone in need, she was "one in a million." Alexis will be missed by many.

Alexis' wish for cremation will be honored.

The Moss Feaster Guardian Chapel is in charge of the arrangements, and entombment will be in Serenity Gardens Memorial Park. This announcement is a courtesy of the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home for Alexis M. Peters. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
