Rebecca Jean Parks, 87, a former resident of Elkins, and more recently a resident of the Granville Manor at Parsons, departed this life Friday evening, Oct. 11, 2013, in Granville Manor.
She was born Friday, March 19, 1926, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Robert D. and Hazel M. Bell Parks.
She had never married.
Surviving are one brother, William Edward Parks of Norton; and one sister, Harriett Virginia Bennett of Madison, Tenn.
Preceding her in death were one brother, Robert Lloyd Parks; and two sisters, her twin, Margaret Catherine Park, and Mary Martha Parks.
Rebecca was a graduate of Elkins High School, was a child care worker and a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
The family will receive friends at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Thursday, Oct. 17, from noon to 1:30 p.m. On Thursday, at 1:30 p.m., a funeral service will be conducted at the church with the Rev. Kevin Starcher officiating. Interment will follow in Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Airport Road.
