D&E sweeps Battlers

Senators dedicate Nuttall Field with wins over G-MAC rivals

The Davis &?Elkins College soccer teams celebrated the dedication of Nuttall Field by sweeping G-MAC rival Alderson Broaddus on Saturday afternoon.

The Senators (6-7-1, 5-1-1 G-MAC) took the women's game, 1-0, as Laia Margenat Dordas scored the game's lone goal on a header just 11 minutes into the contest off an assist from Allison Bogar.

Ashley Winkelspecht tallied four saves for D&E, which held a 6-4 edge on shots on goal. Sarah Turner had five saves in a losing effort.

In the men's contest, James Pucci knocked in a pair of goals to lead D&E to a 5-0 victory.

Lukas Grosse-Puppendah, Wyatt Hill and Mason Carte added scores for the Senators (7-4-1, 5-1). Cameron Rivera recorded two saves in net.

Both teams will return to action Thursday at Ohio Valley.

The AB women will return home at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday to face Salem International.

The Battler men will visit Salem on the same day at 3 p.m.
