The Inter-Mountain photo by Katie Kuba
At right, Charlie Montgomery, past grand master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge AF&AM Masons of West Virginia, and Buddy Vincent, left, also a past grand master, lay the cornerstone for the new National Guard Armory Readiness Center Saturday during a traditional ceremony on Brushy Fork Road in Buckhannon. This ceremony of cornerstone laying, which was hosted by Franklin No. 7 and Rock Cave No. 81 lodges, is a tradition in masonic history; until the development of steel-framed construction in the past century, most buildings were erected by stacking stone on stone.
