Kenneth Wade Carpenter, 57, of Valley Bend, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 11, 1956, in Pocahontas County, he was a son of Archie Raymond Carpenter of Junction City, Kan., and the late Sandra Jean Felts Carpenter.
Kenneth was an electrician and was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam.
He is survived by a daughter, Tera Hancock (Chris) of Cerulean, Ky.; a son, Heath Carpenter of Georgia; four grandchildren, Layton Hancock, Emily Hancock, Brooke Hancock and Nicole Carpenter; a sister, Vicki Shinaberry of Durbin; a brother, Gary Carpenter of Elkins; and companion, Kim Welch of Valley Bend.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Durbin Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Donnie Curry officiating.
