Another Road Test

Tigers will travel to No. 15 Lewis County tonight

One team will be searching for its first victory of the season, while the other is fighting for a playoff spot when Elkins travels to Lewis County this evening.

The Big 10 Conference encounter is slated for 7:30 p.m.

The Tigers (0-7) will be playing their third straight road game against a state-ranked opponent, and are coming off a 41-13 loss at No. 6 Wheeling Park last Friday.

Seniors Ben Lonergan (592) and Dylan Lucas (447) lead the Tigers in rushing. Isaac Riggleman anchors the defense and has registered 51 tackles.

The Elkins defense will be tested by running back Mark Metzgar, who has rushed for 725 yards and seven scores. Dustin Martin (473 yards rushing, 5 TDs) also is an offensive threat.

Brandon Moneypenny has picked off five passes on defense.

Lewis County, 5-2 and 15th in this week's SSAC ratings, is coming off a 27-17 setback to No. 8 Oak Hill.

Elkins will remain on the road next Friday at Bridgeport for another Big 10 tilt, while the Minutemen are scheduled to host Liberty.
