TENNERTON - Buckhannon-Upshur turned in its best performance of the season with a 50-28 win over Preston Friday night at Freal "Red" Crites Memorial Stadium.
Sparked by senior Seth Cutright's return to the lineup, the Bucs' offense erupted for nearly 500 yards of total offense on an evening they honored their senior players.
Cutright, who had been sidelined by a knee injury, rushed for 205 yards and scored two touchdowns. He also threw for another score when he hit quarterback Dillon Gaudet on a double pass from 38 yards out on a wild final play of the first half that gave B-U a 29-20 lead at the intermission.

Both offenses were unstoppable in the first half as the Bucs scored first on a 43-yard scamper by Cutright.
Scott Stone tied the game for the Knights on a 5-yard run.
Brandon Mallett's touchdown run for the hosts was matched by a 1-yard run by Josiah Nuce that kept things even at 14.
The Bucs then took the lead for good when Cutright raced in from 26 yards out, and Mallett added the two-point conversion run to make it 22-14.
Another short TD run by Nuce brought Preston back to 22-20 after the failed two-point conversion,
But B-U carried all the momentum into the second half after the late touchdown pass.
The Bucs broke the game open in the third quarter on Philip Petrulak's 1-yard run with 4:47 left in the frame, and stretched the lead to 50-20 as Gaudet added touchdown passes to Marcus Lofton and Mallett.
Stone closed the scoring for the Knights when he connected with Levi Nolan on a 10-yard strike in the fourth quarter.
Gaudet completed 11 of 12 passes for 120 yards on the evening, while Mallett added 45 yards on the ground.
Cutright also had two interceptions on defense.
Nuce finished with 94 yards rushing for the Knights (3-6).
B-U concluded the season with a 3-7 mark.
