Poet Crystal Good of Charleston shares her experiences Wednesday at West Virginia Wesleyan College’s Annie Merner Pfeiffer Library through the poetry in her book, “Valley Girl.” Good’s presentation is part of the college’s Gender Studies Symposium and is one event in a series for the week. Good is a member of the Affrilachian Poets, mixing African and Appalachian writing styles together. Good, along with Professor Ethel Morgan Smith and West Virginia Delegate Meshea Poore, will conduct a panel discussion on racial and gender justice through their work at 7 p.m. today in the Loar Auditorium on the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College.
