Elkins will attempt to pick up its first win of the season and damage Class AA, No. 14 Robert C. Byrd's playoff position today in Big 10 play.
The Tigers (0-9) are coming off a loss at Bridgeport, while the Eagles defeated Scott in their last outing.
Class A, No. 4 Moorefield (8-1) will get a final tune-up before the playoffs begin as Tygarts Valley visits for a PVC matchup.
Last Friday, MHS had to rally in the fourth quarter to get past Pendleton County, 33-30.
The Wildcats led 30-17 entering the fourth quarter before the Yellow Jackets stung with 16 unanswered points.
The Bulldogs are coming off their first win of the season last Saturday as they defeated Hundred, 46-0.
East Hardy at Petersburg
Class A, No. 11 East Hardy (7-2) will look to end the regular season on a high note at Petersburg (3-6).
After losing two straight games, the Cougars got back on track last week defeating Clear Springs, Md., 52-25.
Petersburg lost to Tucker County last Friday, 35-27. Quarterback Ryan Vanmeter threw two touchdowns and ran for another. Defensive back Chris Halterman also returned an interception for a touchdown.
at Fishburne Military
Pendleton County (2-7) hopes to end the season in positive fashion at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fishburne Military, Va.
The Wildcats dropped a hard-fought contest against Moorefield, 33-30, last week. Timothy Hevener had 101 yards rushing and also completed 7 of 15 passes for two scores.
Fishburne Military is 8-0 on the season. Last week, the Caissons defeated Hargrave Military Academy, 28-20. Quarterback Jason Fields was 12 of 18 passing with one touchdown, while running back Isaiah Guzman rushed for 80 yards on 19 carries and scored two touchdowns.
at Point Pleasant
In what could be a preview of a Class AAA first-round playoff game, No. 14 Lewis County (7-2) will visit No. 4 Point Pleasant (9-0) at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
"This is a really huge game for us," Minutemen coach Eddie Vincent said. "The team is at an even keel right now.
"The guys know just how big this game is. If we win this one, it will hopefully give us a better position in standings and give us a better matchup for the playoffs."
The Minutemen defense has issued two straight shutouts. Last week, the team defeated Liberty, 69-0, and the week before it beat Elkins, 49-0.
In last Friday's game, Mark Metzgar ran for 150 yards and four touchdowns on 10 carries. Malik Conway scored on runs of 10 and 55 yards and Dustin Martin caught a 69-yard touchdown pass from Skyler Carlton as the Minutemen led 48-0 at the half. Ryan Carson, Damien White and Ryan Watson all scored on short touchdown runs in the second half.
Point Pleasant's defense has also been stellar.
Last week, the Big Blacks defeated Oak Glen, 50-0.
Point Pleasant has only given up 108 points through nine games.
