ELKINS - An Ellamore man is free on bond after being arrested on burglary charges this week, police said.
Cameron Loudin, 20, was arrested Tuesday on one count of burglary and one count of transferring stolen goods, both felonies, after police received a complaint from Sturl Waybright on Oct. 29 regarding property that was allegedly stolen after his hunting cabin was broken into, according to the criminal complaint.
Police reportedly investigated the cabin and saw the side door had been kicked in and there boot prints on the door. Waybright told police he'd heard Loudin had sold someone a large television and a tree stand, according to the complaint. Waybright told police he thought the items were his and added that three Vertex radios and chargers were missing from the cabin also, making the full value of the missing items approximately $1,300, according to the complaint.
When police met with Loudin on Nov. 5, he confessed that he and another man broke into the cabin and "proceeded to take some items with the intent of selling them for drug money," the complaint reads. Loudin told police "he took the...TV and the tree stand" while "the only thing he saw (the other man) take was a case of pop and what looked like a camoflage (sic) jacket," according to the complaint. Loudin reportedly told police he did not know where the radios were located at the time.
Loudin advised police he sold the items to another individual, who did not know the items were stolen, for $120, the complaint states.
Loudin is free on a $10,000 cash or surety bond.
