CHARLESTON - Several area players were recognized on the high school all-state soccer teams released Wednesday by the West Virginia Coaches Association.
Buckhannon-Upshur's Marty Elliott was selected to the first team of the Class AAA squad. Elliott, a senior forward, helped the Bucs advance to the regional finals.
Teammates Chris Orwig, Dylan Hall and Trey Short earned honorable mention laurels, along with Elkins' Dalton Bobes and Mason Schoonover.

Buckhannon-Upshur’s Marty Elliott is a Class AAA all-state first-team selection.
In Class AA-A, Pocahontas County's Alex Kenninson and Garrett McCurdy were named to the second team.
Philip Barbour's Ben Ball, and Pocahontas County's Stephen Simmons and Cary Robertson were named honorable mention.
A pair of Elkins senior players earned second-team honors on the Class AAA girls squad - senior goalkeeper Charlie George and senior forward Isabella Nieves.
Area players on the honorable mention list included Elkins' Hailea Harper and B-U's Taylor Starkey.
Both are sophomores.
Philip Barbour freshman Cassandra Triplett was named honorable mention in Class AA-A.
