Santa’s Workshop going strong

Activities scheduled for Friday, Saturday

Santa's Workshop is open in downtown Elkins on Friday and Saturday.

The Kissel Stop Cafe, 23 Third St., will host a holiday sing-a-long from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday as part of the holiday festivities. Children can sip hot chocolate, courtesy of the Kissel Stop, and enjoy live music as Kris Woodrum and Tonya Auvio perform a mix of Christmas songs and guitar instrumentals.

Woodrum, a classically trained guitarist, will be featured.

Other downtown activities Saturday morning:

Gold Dome Photography will take children's portraits at Talbott Frameshop, 220 Third St. Portraits may also be framed.

Clara Belle's, 320 Davis Ave., will offer live music.

Good Energy Foods, 214 Third St., will host A Kids Corner, where children can make snowflakes and wreaths with local artist Katy McClane.

Activities are also planned on Friday.

Henry G's, 110 Third St., will offer cookie decorating from 2 to 4 p.m. Cookies will be baked and served with a drink.

Hopscotch, 117 Third St., will show children how to make their own pair of reindeer antlers from 2 to 4 p.m.

Elkins Sewing Center, 300 Davis Ave., will provide materials and instruction for kids to make elf hats from 2 to 4 p.m. and 50 to 7 p.m.

Terri's Shear Magic, corner of Second Street and Davis Avenue, will welcome youngsters for nail painting and hair glamorizing from 5 to 7 p.m.

Clara Belle's will host story time with Mrs. Claus, and Elkins City Hall will offer ornament-making from 5 to7 p.m.

Santa's Workshop welcomes children 12 years of age and younger to participate in all activities. Many activities are free. A minimal fee of $5 or less per child may be charged to cover expenses for others. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Santa'sWorkshop is sponsored by Elkins ON TRAC and participating businesses and will continue on Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 14.
