ELKINS - Small businesses eyeing global markets are invited to a workshop from 10 a.m. to noon on Dec. 11 at the Randolph County Development Authority offices, 10 11th St., Elkins.
The session, presented by the West Virginia District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration, is designed to help small businesses - especially those in the hardwood and logging industries - sell their products and services abroad.
Participants will include Leslie Drake, director of the West Virginia U.S. Export Assistance Center, and Caitlin Ashley and Enybe Diaz from the International Trade Division of the West Virginia Development Office.
Leo Lopez, lender relations specialist from the SBA West Virginia District Office, and William Houck, regional manager of the SBA Office of International Trade, will discuss export financing options.
Other topics will include exporting opportunities for Appalachian hardwood and state resources for exporters.
Judy McCauley, director of the West Virginia district, said, "We know that 95 percent of the world's consumers live outside of the United States. Exporting goods allows small businesses the ability to reach new markets, increase sales, and create jobs."
Registration is required and can be completed by going to www.wvscore.org or by calling 304-347-5220.
