Hacker's Creek Pioneer Descendants will host an open house at the Central WV Genealogy Library, 45 Abbott's Run Road in Horner, from noon to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12.
Free tours and assistance with genealogy will be offered, and books by West Virginia authors and other gift items will available for purchase.
There also will be cookies, hot chocolate and a door prize.
The newly renovated museum area in the community room also will be open to visitors. The museum houses the Jubilee Collection of items handcrafted by West Virginia artisans. The display includes wooden toys, handmade quilts, woven blankets and handcrafted
The items were collected over more than 20 years by the Board of Directors of the Stonewall Jackson Heritage Arts and Crafts Jubilee as a means of promoting and preserving a portion of West Virginia heritage.
The collection was donated to the Hacker's Creek Pioneer Descendants so that it could be maintained in a permanent display available for public viewing..
