Lois Gaston, 96, of Indian Camp, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, in Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, N.C.
She was born July 15, 1917, in Indian Camp, a daughter of the late Gilbert and Ethel Hamilton Gould.
On Aug. 6, 1945, she married John Franklin Gaston, who preceded her in death Jan. 31, 1965.
She is survived by one son, Gilbert Marion Gaston of Lenoir, N.C.; one granddaughter, Jennifer Cole of Los Angeles, Calif.; one grandson, John Gaston and wife, Tammy, of Lenoir, N.C.; two great-granddaughters, Brittany Myra Cole and Amanda Gaston both of Lenoir, N.C.; four great-grandsons, Billy Lee Cole of Tennessee, Nathan Andrew Gunn of Morganton, N.C., John Daniel Gaston and Joshua Church both of Lenoir, N.C.; one sister, Anna Cutright of Rock Cave; and one brother, Joe Gould of French Creek.
Mrs. Gaston was a seamstress, a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Buckhannon and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Aux.
Friends will be received today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in Big Bend Cemetery in Sago.
