Irish run past PB boys

GRAFTON - Cal Cistaro tossed in 23 points as Notre Dame cruised past Philip Barbour, 79-57, in Sam Bord Memorial Tournament action on Thursday night.

The Colts (2-2) fall to today's consolation game against Trinity, which lost to Grafton in Thursday's other boys game.

Kolby Abruzzino added 20 points and Justin Goff 12 for the Irish (2-1).

Philippi and Belington middle schools renewed their county rivalry in front of the student body Thursday afternoon in Belington. The Hawks earned a 37-22 victory in the girls varsity game.

Trevor Matko paced Philip Barbour with 21 points, followed by Chris Neville with 10.

Notre Dame and Grafton will battle in today's title game.

Middle school boys basketball

Green Bank splits with Pendleton

FRANKLIN - Green Bank split a pair of games against Pendleton County Thursday night in middle school boys basketball action.

The Eagles won the varsity game, 34-27, as Jacob Jones netted 12 points and Jarret Taylor 10.

Kevin Warner led the Wildcats with 11.

Pendleton County took the junior varsity contest by a score of 57-16 as Tristan Wagoner scored 17, Tim?Thorne 16 and Dallas Sly 15.

Mathias Solliday had six points for Green Bank, which will host Pendleton County on Jan. 3.
