Adaland set to ring in the New Year with chef

Adaland Mansion at Philippi will welcome in the new year with a dinner created just for the special night of Dec. 31 by guest chef Suzy Gouer Ball.

Ball was well received by guests at her specialty dinner prepared for this summer's highly successful Celebrate Local dinner series at Adaland.

For her New Year's Eve dinner, Ball will be preparing a mouthwatering array of foods served buffet style. The menu will begin with assorted cheeses, fruits, and crackers at the diners' tables.

The buffet itself features a slow roasted rosemary crusted New York loin and stuffed jumbo shells with rosa shrimp Alfredo sauce. Accompaniments are herb roasted fingerling potatoes, French green beans with garlic mushrooms, and ginger honey glazed carrots. All this will be served with a Caesar salad with home made croutons and Waldorf Astoria winter salad with warm rolls and compound butter. The dinner will be topped off with a cake parfait, a complimentary glass of champagne, and Irish coffee.

Seatings for the dinner are at 5 and 7 p.m. Reservations are required and may be made by calling 304-457-2415.

The New Year's Eve dinner is the last event at Adaland Mansion for the 2013 season.
