FAIRMONT - Corin Todd scored 15 points to lead Robert C. Byrd past Elkins, 56-36, Friday in the Fairmont Senior Holiday Classic.

The Tigers will play John Marshall at 3:30 p.m. today.

"We started out well, then everything fell apart," Elkins coach Cathy Duffield said. "The girls stopped having fun and they stopped shooting. We made too many turnovers as well. RCB is a good shooting team. They have a couple of big girls that played big games. They shut off what we were trying to do."

Sophomore forward Logan Dudley paced Elkins in scoring with 12 points, including six of eight free throws. Senior Madison Collett added 10 points.

"The team is starting to come along," Duffield said. "They are young but they are starting to gel. They don't quit and that's what impresses me."

For the Eagles, junior Shayla Hinterer also contributed 12 points.

In junior varsity action, freshmen Tannah Cox and Teagan Garrett both scored 12 points to lead RCB to a 49-37 win.

For the Tigers, Monica Rossi scored eight points and Shayla Koerner added seven points.

Tolsia 59, Pocahontas 51

Tolsia will face Nicholas County at 2 p.m. today for the title. The Warriors will play James Monroe at noon in the consolation game.

Along with her 26 points, Winnett also added 10 rebounds. Other scoring leaders for Tolsia included: Jordan Presley with 12 points, Latosha Nichols with 10 and Kerrie Lahoda with seven.

Freshman Sarah Ryder led Pocahontas County with 17 points. Sophomore Melissa Murphy added 10 points, seven rebounds, five steals and five assists. Other top scorers included Lorena Rose with nine points and Olivia Knisely with eight points.
