The Harman School class of 1963 recently hosted a reunion. A delicious dinner was prepared and served by the Harman Senior Center staff. A special display of pictures and lighted candles was created in remembrance of deceased classmates. The picture of those in attendance was taken in front of a quilt containing a block with embroidered name and symbol prepared by each class member and created by their beloved Harman School fifth- and sixth-grade teacher, Carrie Harman Roy. Roy’s granddaughter, Vicki Teter Crosston, graciously shared this keepsake for the evening of reminiscing. From left are, first row, Michael Troy Yokum, Ronald Keith Pennington, Wayne Grey Huffman, Dennie Elwood Armentrout, Danny William Vance and Dwyer Judy; second row, Sandra Tingler Harlan, Thelma Summerfield Richardson, Sharon Wymer Lloyd, Rosalind Snyder Wyatt, Doris Cooper Pigott, Juanita Marie Flanagan, Sarah Bucher Myers, Brenda Lou Vance and Connie White Deadrick. Also in attendance were homeroom teacher, Luceba Smith Simmons and husband, Pete; teacher and photographer Bayard L. Swecker and principal Donald L. Rice and wife, Carolyn. A letter from former teacher Sharon Jack McQuain, who was unable to attend, was shared with classmates.
