Bertha Day Lambert, 100, a resident of Elkins, departed this life Wednesday morning, Jan. 1, 2014, in Nella's Inc. of Crystal Springs.
She was born Wednesday, June 25, 1913, at Harman, a daughter of the late Miles and Mary Reed Day.
On Oct. 11, 1931, she was married to Hobert Lambert, who preceded her in death April 3, 1985.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Debbie Lambert of Broadway, Va.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death were four sons, Robert Jack, James William, Kenneth Hobert and Keith Lambert; three brothers, Baxter, Benjamin and Andy Day; and six sisters, Margie Liggett, Rosie Smith, Bessie Morrison, Alice Varner, Nellie White and Minnie Day.
She attended the schools of Harman, was a homemaker and was a member of Riverside Mennonite Church at Dry Fork.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 7 p.m. today. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Sunday, Jan. 5, at 1:30 p.m.
Interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
