Eleanor Louise Kuski, 94, of Thomas, passed away Jan. 11, 2014, at Cortland Acres.
She was born Aug. 20, 1919, in Thomas, a daughter of the late Alonzo Tecumseh and Florence Louise Colburn Shoemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Kuski, whom she married on March 14, 1942, and was married for 53 years before his death in 1995.
Also preceding her in death were five brothers, Jack, Harold, Robert, Louie and Alan Shoemaker; five sisters, Betty Shoemaker, Susie Winters, Marian Close, Hartzell Burley and Katherine Hamrick; and one son-in-law, Dale Martin.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Martin, Thomas; one brother, Richard Shoemaker, Barbonton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Peter S. Martin and Ted Thompson, Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Elaine (Erik) Geroski, Oakland, Md.; three great-grandchildren, Vivian Geroski, Kristen Geroski and Zachary Martin.
Eleanor was a graduate of Thomas High School. She was a Protestant by faith with a strong belief in her Christian values. She read Our Daily Bread devotional pamphlet every day.
She enjoyed walking, bowling, crafts, baking, cooking and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home today from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 9 to 11 a.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Neil Parsons will officiate. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
