BUCKHANNON - A Buckhannon boy who went missing Monday has returned home, local law enforcement officials said Friday.

Buckhannon Police Chief Matt Gregory said 15-year-old Nathaniel Gage Confere was located by Upshur County sheriff's deputies Thursday evening on the Red Knob Road.

"He was at a relative's house there, and I want to say (sheriff's deputies) found him around 7:30 p.m., and they were speaking with him at that time," Gregory said

Friday.

A daily activity log maintained by the Upshur County Sheriff's Office indicated that Sgt. Marshall Powers and Cpl. Jason Queen found Confere around 8 p.m. Thursday at a residence on the Red Knob Road.

Gregory said searching for Confere consumed most of police officers' working hours over the past week.

"I'm just glad he's home safe," the police chief said.
